Programs

  • Education
    Students are expected to maintain an overall average of B (or above) or be actively working toward that goal.
  • Leadership
    Communications skill development and leadership opportunities provided, e.g., members plan and conduct meetings, do presentations, and create and develop projects. Members are strongly encouraged to take advantage of leadership development opportunities.
  • Community Service Suggestions
    Community service is encouraged. Members can collect up to 20 hours of community service hours per month that can be utilized to fund educational expenses (application fees, SAT and ACT tests costs, books, etc.)
  • Financial Aid/Scholarship Information
    Members are encouraged to apply for student aid and take advantage of scholarship opportunities.  We offer writing tutoring to help students improve writing skills needed for successful college and scholarship applications.
  • Mentorship
    Professional Latino women in the public and private sectors speak to our members at meetings.  Many become mentors of our students. Members are also encouraged to mentor other students―peers and younger students.

  • Fundraising
    Members are encouraged to participate in fundraising efforts related to supporting goals and objectives of Amigas Latinas for College.
